New avatars
Saturday 01.07.2006 - General
Check out these new Faces of War avatars we've put together! Use them on forums, use them on AIM, use them anywhere!
Tactics
Tuesday 23.05.2006 - General
Check out this screen showing some of the tactics you'll need to employ in Faces of War!
Attacking under the cover of a Sherman is a good tactic, but if you want to keep the tank safe, best make sure that no German soldiers with Panzerfausts are nearby. You’ll need to make your own decisions about the tactics you use in any particular situation. Realistic battles give you a chance to develop your own tactical maneuvers and tricks.
Inventory
Monday 22.05.2006 - General
Check out this screen showing the importance of inventory in Faces of War!
In the game each soldier or unit will have its own inventory. This means that, at any moment, a player can exchange his submachine gun for a good rifle captured from an enemy sniper. In the game it is possible to find something useful in boxes or in abandoned trucks, for example a grenade launcher or a bundle of dynamite.
Faces of War weapons and vehicles
Wednesday 03.05.2006 - General
Check out this new screenshot from Faces of War, showing weapons and vehicles.

Faces Of War provides the player with an enormous choice of means of destruction: sub-machine guns, machine-guns, grenade launchers, cannons, jeeps, tanks, AA mounts, armored vehicles and many others. All of them are modeled using accurate drawings of real military vehicles, it helps to make the atmosphere of battle even more realistic. A player can capture any weapon or vehicle on the battlefield and use it at their discretion. For example a captured cannon can be rolled to the firing line and used to repel attacks from enemy tanks. The same goes for grenades or "Panzerfausts". Dynamite can be used to undermine tanks.
Faces of War squad control screen
Friday 28.04.2006 - General
Check out this new screenshot from Faces of War, showing the squad control system.

The basic acting unit in Faces Of War is a squad. The squad commander is marked with yellow color, soldiers with green. Grey is the color of the units, which don’t belong to this squad, but they can be included into it. A squad follows its commander and executes his orders. It is player’s choice to assign a commander of a squad, include or exclude soldiers or control a separate unit.
Almost any object in the ‘Faces Of War’ can be used as a cover, which preserves a player from enemy fire. It gives a player a chance to apply various battle tactics and demonstrate realistic battles.

1UP Preview
Thursday 09.02.2006 - General
1UP have posted their preview of Faces of War and they say:
"Faces of War has a lot of potential and a team that has a clear design goal and also takes into account the concerns of their community and fans. Coming up on a March release, we're excited to see if the game lives up to that potential, or falls into the same traps that kept the series' freshman effort from greatness."

"With release only a few months away, the gang at Ubisoft have sent us a couple of playable levels from Faces of War, the new World War 2 RTS from 1C and Bestway. Designed as a sequel to 2004's Soldiers: Heroes of World War II, Faces of War ups the ante in virtually ever single area. Graphics, mission design, intensity, and multiplayer options have all been expanded well beyond what we saw in the original game. If the two levels we've played are any indication, Faces of War will definitely set a high bar for other RTS games released in 2006."Click here to read the IGN preview
"All in all, it seems that Faces of War is shaping up rather well. So if it ends up playing as good as it looks, what will the future hold for the series - is there any chance of a sequel?"Click here to read the Eurogamer preview
"If the two battles that we've seen thus far are any indication, Faces of War could very well be one of the first big surprises of 2006."Click here to read the Gamespot preview
